| I just purchased a Maschine studio. I'm using Studio One Pro v3. I have no clue how to set up the controller in S1. In add device, it says to load the studio one template into the maschine by holding Shift-Control on the maschine. There is no 'control' button on the studio. Anyone have one of these? Not sure about the 'receive from' and 'send to' settings in the same dialog as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

| Well the send to and receive from should be both set to the Maschine Controller. As for the template I'm not sure. Is this a newer version of Maschine? Look in the manual and see if you can find 'Loading Templates' I don't have Maschine but I have helped a few people stumble through setting it up. | From what I understand: When choosing Maschine in the external hardware menu. It provides a 'zip' file as an attachment to download. Then you are supposed to import the template into the Controller Editor application. I'm having trouble with this because the controller editor app doesn't recognize the template file. I've contacted tech support about this, and will let you know what they say. In the meantime, has anyone figured this out? iMac, OS X 10.10.4, Apollo Quad, S1-ver 3.0.2 soundcloud.com/shanearix facebook.com/shanearix |
| I'm looking for the same solution. I've got a Maschine Studio and run Studio One version 3.0.1. The 'Studio One.ncm' file that is downloaded from the S1 Add Device dialog will not import in NI Controller Editor as a template for Maschine Studio. However, if you double-click the 'Studio One.ncm' file, the template will load in Controller Editor under Maschine Controller templates, as opposed to Maschine Studio templates. The templates for Maschine Controller are different and unusable on Maschine Studio. themuzic wroteWell the send to and receive from should be both set to the Maschine Controller. In the Add or Edit Device options in Studio One, there are 2 options in Receive From - Maschine Studio Virtual Input and Maschine Studio Port 1; there are 4 options in Send To - Maschine Studio Virtual Input and Maschine Studio Ports 1 through 3. To me it appears that Maschine Control is not equal to Maschine Studio Control, although that should not prevent the Maschine Studio from controlling MIDI. I'm going to keep searching for a solution, but the solution may be to build my own Controller Editor template for Maschine Studio. |
| I have the exact same experience. It seems the .ncm file provided is only compatible with the old Maschine. Not Maschine Studio. If I double click it, it opens up with Controller Editor but with an image of the old Maschine and nothing happens when I try to activate it with Maschine Studio. It seems we need a template specificly for Maschine Studio. iMac Pro | 64Gb Ram | Radeon Pro Vega 56 8 GB | macOS 10.14.6 | Cubase Pro 10.5.20 | Luna | Pro Tools | Ableton Live | Logic Pro X | Studio One | Melodyne Studio | Revoice Pro | VSL Pro | UAD Apollo 8p+16 | 2xUAD Octo | Softube Console 1 | Motu Midi Express XT | Various drummachines, microphones, hardware synths & fx and way too many plugins | |
| I have not yet found a solution, but also stopped looking for one a while ago. I'd still like to find one. |
| It's slightly annoying when it says in the External Devices editor that the template IS for Maschine Studio... iMac Pro | 64Gb Ram | Radeon Pro Vega 56 8 GB | macOS 10.14.6 | Cubase Pro 10.5.20 | Luna | Pro Tools | Ableton Live | Logic Pro X | Studio One | Melodyne Studio | Revoice Pro | VSL Pro | UAD Apollo 8p+16 | 2xUAD Octo | Softube Console 1 | Motu Midi Express XT | Various drummachines, microphones, hardware synths & fx and way too many plugins | |
| How exactly do you want to use maschine in your workflow. There are several options. I can assist you if you like. |
| Hello there. I am going thru the exact same issue right now. This is my situatuion. I have a Maschine Studio, Scarlett 2i4 interface, Komplete S61 Keyboard, and Studio One 3 Pro. Had Maschine Studio 1st and had been running that just fine foir a beginner. Got the S61 and Studio One 3 Pro at the same time and installed pretty much at the same time. In Studio One 3, Options/ external devices/ MIDI Send to and Recieve From, should be set to my Scarlett 2i4 interface, right? (it's either that or NONE) Now the real issue is like everyone else is trying to do, How do I use my Maschine 'STUDIO' inside of Studio One 3? I have a beat that I want to put vocals over, that I made in Maschine STUDIO, but can't figure it out how to get the beat inside of Studio One 3. Anyone have a clue? |
| I am in the same boat. I had maschine set up, at least fairly well in version 2, but i'm not sure how to go about it here. Maschine is key for me! |
| Well I may have somewhat figured getting my track inside of S1 from Maschine. A Sales Associate at Guitar Center , and fellow Maschine user, explained that setting Maschine up as a External Device was not necessary. Only if you wanted to use Maschine as a Midi controller. Which I do not. I just wanted to drag and drop Maschine into S1, and use Maschine as Maschine. All that I needed to do was go to Locations in S1/VSTs and 'add' where you have 'Maschine 2' VSTs so S1 can know where to look. After I did that I was able to drag and drop Maschine into S1 as an instrument track and it seems to be working BUT, something is STILL wrong. The track that I wanted to load up won't load. A msg says ....Error loading.....Loading Project C:Users..my beat name.mxprj failed. A few of my other projects gave me the same msg when trying to load them also. Then the others have this msg...Load Plug-in....Could not load 1 or more plug-ins!...HELP ME PLZ!!! Anyone had this happen or know what is going on here? Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. |

| I've been importing tracks into s1 for years. You add the m2k as a vst and then add it like regular vst instrument to a track. You can record 16 tracks a time a time. You add them as instrument tracks and find the maschine channels you checked off at the top of the vSt drop down. Make an ascending amount of tracks from the lowest m2k channel in the add track drop down for s1. Then you record. Not sure if this has been resolved, but machine very much works with s1. You only use the template to make the the m2k a standalone midi controller, which I'm trying to figure out. If anyone is still stuck let me know and I'll make a post with screenshots. M2k acts as a global and focus midi with the touch of shift + controlier [midi]. |
